STATUTORY ACTIVITIES
PPI Branch conducts studies intended to develop scientific bases for cultivated plants protection programs, followed by their practical implementation and constant modernization, with attention being paid to sustainable agricultural practices, integrated pest management and the safety of people and the environment.
Chemical and physico-chemical analyses of pesticides as well as developing safe waste disposal methods are important elements of the Branch statutory activities and constitute its specialty.
Ongoing projects:
- OSO-02 - Development of methods of analyses for plant protection products, including quality evaluation.
- OSO-03 - Studies on developing and implementing pesticide waste disposal methods.
- OSO-04 - Studies on weed control and nitrogen fertilizing impact on wheat grain.
- OSO-05 - Studies on occurrence and control of wheat fungal diseases in southern and central Poland.
- OSO-06 - Harmfulness and control of pests affecting winter rape, developing an optimal timeframe to control silique pests in southern and central Poland.
- OSO-09 - Application of nitrogen fertilization and chemical treatment of new wheat varieties as components of integrated plant protection.
- OSO-13 - Soil and water contamination evaluations based on samples taken at selected expired pesticides landfills.
