QUALITY SYSTEMS



The Pesticide Efficacy Testing Department operates within the system certified by the Polish Center for Accreditation and according to good experimental practice principles established by the Main Inspectorate of Plant and Seed Protection.

After the audit performed at the Department on January 24th, 2005 it received the Decision of the Main Inspectorate of Plant and Seed Protection recognizing that the Department meets all the organizational and technical requirements as established by the good experimental practice principles, which guide the appropriated performance of pesticide efficacy trials and tests. With the Decision No.1/2005 by the Main Inspectorate of Plant and Seed Protection, the Department received the certificate to conduct efficacy testing of fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, growth regulators, seed dressings and joint application of agrochemicals for field crops of cereals, oilseed rape, leguminous plants, potatoes and beets.

Plant Protection Institute Mission Statement

To conduct research and development and share findings and knowledge in the field of plant protection and to create scientific and practical bases to further plant protection in Poland with consideration of its safety for treatment contractors, consumers and the environment.


Plant Protection Institute Quality System Goals

Constantly strive to improve the quality of experiments and determinations in order to retain trust of commercial and individual customers who order services provided by the Departments within the PPI structure.

Update cultivated plant protection programs to include principles of integrated and sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring profitability of agricultural production with attention being given to the safety of the environment, plants and household animals.

Create and supervise the national system of pesticide efficacy testing following the guidelines of the European Union and other international institutions and organizations.

Execute, according to EU Directives, and constantly improve the monitoring of pesticide residues in foodstuffs.


PPI Quality Policy Declaration

In order to achieve the goals of the quality system, the organizational units within the PPI are obliged by its Directorate to exercise good professional practice and perform high quality testing for services provided to the customers.

The Directorate declares a desire to constantly improve the quality of experiments and determinations performed at the PPI laboratories.

The Directorate obliges the management of all PPI Departments to ensure that their personnel involved in studies and standardization be familiar with the quality policy and procedures and apply them in their practice.

The Directorate declares to supply technical, material and organizational means necessary for the implementation and functioning of the quality system at PPI units.


Accredited activities of the Department of Pesticide Efficacy Testing

The process of adjusting Polish legislation to the EU Directives made it necessary to introduce changes in the organization of studies with regard to, among others, plot experiments performed to determine pesticide biological efficacy for the purpose of their registration.
